Quarter Three Reading Wrap Up + Fall "To Be Read" List
We are finally in my absolute favourite season! I loooove fall. I love the leaves changing, the cooler weather, the festivals, decorating, everything. In the spirit of fall, I'm going to give you a list of the books I want to read during this season. But first, let's get into the books I read from July to September (excluding the book I'm currently reading), when I read them, and my ratings for the ones I've reviewed on this blog. The ones I have not reviewed will have a Blog Post Coming Soon label.

Song of Sorrows and Fate by L.J. Andrews: Blog Post Coming Soon
Fall TBR
I would say this TBR list is in a specific order, but it's not. Currently, I'm reading Funny Story by Emily Henry, and I'm torn on what to read next. We'll see what I decide on. Also, I do plan to listen to a few audiobooks. Here are all of the books on my list! Keep in mind, this list could change, and I could very well read completely different books. Also, I won't be listing the actual blurbs. I'm just going to mention why I want to read the book and maybe what I know of its content. Okay? Let's get to it!
Funny Story by Emily Henry (physical)
As I said, I've already begun reading this. Before I started, I wanted to read this book because I wanted to know the deal with Emily Henry. I bought this a little while after I bought, but didn't read Beach Read. I wanted to know why this author was hyped up so much on the internet. I also wanted to read this book because it used the fake-dating trope, which is one of my favourite romance tropes. Needed to see how Ms. Henry handles that.
This book, I think, is about a woman named Daphne falling in love with her ex-fiancé's fiancé's ex. That's definitely a funny story, isn't it?
Half A Soul by Olivia Outwater (physical)
This cover is so pretty. I've heard this book is very heartwarming and wholesome, which influenced me to buy it. I've also heard this has Bridgerton vibes, and as someone who doesn't like Bridgerton, borderline hates season 2, that makes me a little scared. I'm hoping it's good though.
This book is about a girl named Dora who has half of her soul taken from her by a faerie when she was a child. In present time, she falls in love with a lord, since I'm pretty sure it's set in the Regency Era.
The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna (physical)
This book is about a witch who is hired to teach 3 young witches how to use their powers. I wanted to read it because I've heard it's such a cute, cozy fantasy book. My first experience with the fantasy genre was dark fantasy (link to blog post here), so I wanted to try cozy fantasy to see which one I liked more.
Love from Scratch by Kaitlyn Hill (physical but may pick up on audiobook)
I have no idea what this book is about. I did at one point, but I bought it back in like 2021, I think. I bought it because it was my first time at Barnes and Noble, so I had to get something. It had a cute cover, so I went with it. Hope it's good!
Five Broken Blades by Mai Corland (physical but will listen on audiobook and follow along in the physical book)
This book was purely a special edition buy. I've always wanted a special edition book, and I've been eyeing this one in my local target. I begged my mother to buy it for me, and she eventually did.
From what I understand this book is about some kind of heist, and there's a romantic subplot.
Get A Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert (physical)
This book is pretty popular on TikTok, as is the rest of the trilogy. I wanted to read it and bought it purely based on that.
I'm pretty sure this book is about a plus-sized woman who had a near-death experience. Because of that, she decides to live life freely and achieve everything on her bucket list. Including having random sex. Along the way, she falls in love.
A Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson (audiobook)
Okay, so now we're getting into a different genre than I'm used to. I want to read this book because I want to step out of the realm of romance and fantasy romance. I hate horror, so I thought I'd settle on thriller books. Someone on the Threads app recommended this book for people getting into their first thriller novels.
I honestly don't know what this book is about. All I know is that it's Young Adult.
In My Dreams, I Hold a Knife by Ashley Winstead (audiobook)
I want to buy the hardcover version of this book. I just know it will be so beautiful. Until then, audiobook it is. I want to read this book because I saw a review of it by Newlynova on YouTube, and I really trust her opinions. She said this book was very good, so I'm hoping I like it too.
I believe this book is about a college reunion. A bunch of characters are returning, and they are solving mysteries about what happened to a friend in their past friend group that was murdered.
That's everything! Again, I may not even read some of these books in the fall. Possibly, I might push a few to the winter/new year. We'll see!
